They mounted with a bit of worrying without soapy water or tools although I was wearing clean mechanic gloves for the job. I made sure to push the inner tube stem as far into the tire as it'd go while massaging the beads into the rim's hooks. These tires are rated for 130 psi, and my compressor yields 120. It's a firm ride with low rolling resistance.The tires survived four two mile test rides, so I was confident enough to take them for the 10 mile work commute. No problems despite my having encountered several potholes. Tires are holding 120 psi.****************edit 11/25/14: Got a flat after first commute ride. This is frustrating, and I want to be fair. I'll post my findings after dismounting the tire. Whatever got it went through the Aramid and puncture resistant formulated rubber compound and the Rhino Dillo Tire Liner or perhaps the sidewall. I'm skeptical that it was a pinch flat as the tube held pressure for two weeks through four test rides, but it could be a friction cut from rim's spoke nipples. The bike is low end, so it's built of low cost components. I'll find out later when I've time to work on it.Edit 11/27/14: Finally, I had time to change the leaky inner tube. I had no difficulty at all in dismounting and remounting the tires. Close inspection revealed that the cause of my flat was my improper installation of the Rhino Dillo internal puncture protection liner strip. The tire did not fail; I have changed my rating back to four stars. This is my first road bike, so I'm on a learning curve. Operating the bicycle with the tires inflated to high pressure puts greater stress on the inner tubes and tires than those of the hybrid bikes I've been riding. I dosed the inside of the tire, liner, tube assembly with baby powder which should lube it and did make it a bit easier to roll onto the rim. Tires held up through a 16 mile test ride over rough city streets. I'll continue testing until I'm more confident the liners won't cause friction flats.Edit 4/23/15 Tires are still holding up well, no flats, no sidewall cracks. I've put about 500 miles on them since last entry. The rear is starting to show wear. In wet conditions they seemed to grip corners well.Edit 11/27/15 I replaced these tires with Vittoria Zaffiro III training tires after putting about 3000 miles on the Zaffiro II tires. I had zero flats over the past year even though there were dozens of deep cuts in the rubber treads. After 3000 miles of urban industrial area bike commutes, there was still at least 1/16" of good rubber left on the tread. However, the tire mounted on the rear wheel somehow developed a hole in the side wall area such that the inner tube was exposed, so I replaced the pair. Vittoria rates the Zaffiro III for long mileage and durability and all weather conditions, so I'm looking forward to another year or two of flat free bike commuting. Thanks Vittoria for manufacturing a good product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent training tire, good for wet conditions, light trail riding with a road bike *by B***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2012* I've always found Vittoria to be a good brand choice for the money. $20 each is a great price for those who need a good dry and wet/light trail road tire.Despite the fact these are wire bead, I had no problem mounting them without tools by simply rolling them over onto the rim by hand. I have Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels, which have a nice smooth rounded rim edge. Your wheels may vary.Main reason I bought these is for my early morning rides in the densely wooded area of northwest Georgia where I live, where the backroads can be quite wet from the dew. The center of the tread is slick for good road performance in dry conditions, but they also have a nice grippy tread on the sides for good wet road and light trail traction. I use the 700x23 size tire on my road bike.Another bonus is these tires can take up to 145psi, which really helps for puncture resistance.BTW, I recommend using Michelin AirStop Butyl tubes, found here on Amazon. Best quality tubes I've ever seen. I use the 52mm stem, which is smooth with no threads so my Blackburn Presta/Schrader pump head works well with them. Threaded stems can be a pain in the neck with clamp-down pumps. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Quality Looks Good ~ Weight WAY Off *by O***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2012* Just received 3 of these tires. These are wire bead clinchers and they look great. Min PSI 100psi, Max 130psi rated. The tire looks well made and I expect/hope they will hold up well and last for many miles. BUT... the weight is WAAAAAAy Off. They are advertised at 240g (~8.5oz) but as a giggle, I weighed one tire and it came out at over 13.1oz or about 370 grams. That is more than 50% heavier than the advertised specification!!!I kept reading that the 700x25C rides so much better than my 23C tires so I decided to give these size 25C tires a try. I'm not a weight weenie, but being off in weight by 50% is false advertising. I'm gonna run them anyway cause my folding 23C tires only weighed about 250g so I expect these larger tires with a steel wire bead to weigh about as much as these do. My 23C's have been getting a lot of flats and the last couple have been pinch flats and I definitely was running the correct tire pressure for the tires that went flat. I also read that the 25C's should be less subject to flatting for my 200lb weight. I get flats so often on the crappy roads of Los Angeles that I usually bring a spare tire, at least one tube, patch kit, 2 CO2 cartridges for my inflator along with my tool kit. I've had days where I'd get 2-3 flats in one day which is a real drag.I'll update this review after I get a few hundred miles under my belt.
