I have a large head (more room for my vast knowledge I guess, HA!) and it fits snug but not to tight as to cause a headache or anything. The inside elastic band is a plus for a multitude of cranium diameters out ther. The style is very nice. The palm material is very soft and if the crown is protected, very packable! It provides enough coverage from the suns DEATH RAYS to stay out in it all day. Given the amount of skin cancer cases and rising, I would recommend getting any hat because any ir better than none and if you are thinking about a hat...strongly consider this one. The pricing is about average for a hat of this qaulity. I have a similar smaller brim version of this and it's nice for party's and outings where such a large brim isn't practical. If you go to fairs and the like, which is why I bought it, then this hat is PERFECT!....I did upgrade the draw string with a solid black leather strap cause of it's look and longevity. If you buy this hat and do want the leather just get a 72" leather shoe string...It'll fit perfect! Hats in general will last as long as the user wants them too. It keeps the sun off my face and neck while I am out working and playing in the sun. Having very sun sensitive skin has always made it difficult for me to do things out doors with out worrying about the resulting red irritated skin. This hat's wide brim has help me with my sun issues a great deal. I now enjoy doing yard work, going to the beach and just enjoying the great out doors in general. I also find I don't get as hot and I get many compliments and questions when I wear it in public.
