It downgrades 87W charger to 60W. If you have 15 inch MacBook Pro it will not charge the battery under heavy load. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works flawlessly for charging MacBook Air 11” from 61W USB-C chargers *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2019* I like to travel light, but often need to carry my work laptop (USB-C MacBook Pro) as well as a personal laptop (MagSafe 2 MacBook Air). With the recent addition of a 2018 iPad Pro, I decided to see if I could consolidate on USB-C as my “connector of choice” and immediately set out to find a way to adapt USB-C to MagSafe.After a few false starts with various adapters and cords with mixed reviews and performance, I came across this option, and I’m so glad I did. It worked seamlessly for me on the first try, and has charged my MacBook Air seamlessly and quickly.Because the USB-C ecosystem is kind of wonky, your mileage may vary. However, I have successfully used this cable with both the standard Apple 61W USB-C charger and the RAVPower 61W USB-C GaN charger (the tiny one) to charge. My MacBook Air is the 11” model, which only requires 45W for charging; you may see different results on MacBooks with higher power requirements.The build quality seems rock solid. The USB-C connector is in a metal housing, and the MagSafe tip is just like a genuine one (I would not be surprised if the tip was in fact from the factory producing Apple’s actual chargers). The indicator light on the tip works exactly the way the “real” ones do: orange while charging, and green when fully charged.Ultimately, this cable works perfectly for me. I was suspicious because of all the various issues and confusion surrounding USB-C (so many versions, wattages, etc.) and MagSafe being a proprietary connector, but it has been smooth sailing so far. If you’re looking to slim down your bag and standardize on USB-C (and are educated on all the caveats around wattage, USB-C PD, etc.) I’d definitely recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tested with 15" MPB, works, but only with Apple USB-C adapter. *by D***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2020* I had no problem using this to charge my 2015 15" MBP using the 96W Apple Charger. I tested with an inline USB-C power meter and measured ~72W. Other non-USB-C chargers I also measured at 72W.I tested with a completely dead battery with lid shut, also tested with 30% charged battery with lid opened. Lastly tested with CPU running at 100%. No problems. The cable light remained orange.I tested Anker 60W and 100W chargers with no luck (15" MPB). Charge light toggles from orange to green as soon as it hits 60W. MacBook Air and 13" MBP worked just fine with Anker 60W.Anker 100W charger did work, but only if inline USB-C power meter used. 72W measured.
