I plugged the device in anyway, expecting to hear the computer recognizing the device which didn't happen. I then resolved the oscillator short and tried again. This time the computer recognized the device as a serial to USB converter but anything more than that was a failure, when a SIM card was installed it didn't start to flash the LED or anything. It looks like its been soldered with a wooden stick not any soldering equipment. I plugged the device in anyway, expecting to hear the computer recognizing the device which didn't happen. I then resolved the oscillator short and tried again. This time the computer recognized the device as a serial to USB converter but anything more than that was a failure, when a SIM card was installed it didn't start to flash the LED or anything. It looks like its been soldered with a wooden stick not any soldering equipment.
