Review: great value and ease of use , durable - i really like the product. the brightness from the bulb not only attracts the buggies but it works as a night light, it doesn't have any nasty smell or noise to disturb your sleep or day. i ordered more than one so i have one in every room, when there is a fly or fruit flies or mosquito in my home i know that they will not be around for long. the glue pads are large and are easy to switch to a clean one. i also change out the bulbs every year so they stay bright and attracting. i love checking my Faicuks every day to see how many buggies are in there instead of fling around my home and infecting my children and pets.
Review: Simple Design That Works - I was pretty excited to get this new weapon. The war I have been fighting this year against the horde of winged demons was beginning to slowly drive me mad. This year in particular has been extremely terrible with flies, and they besieged my home with their filthy, sanity-sucking presence. I had flashbacks of playing one of the original Sims games, where too many flies in a home might trigger a fatal fly-attack event and kill your Sim. Some small part of me kind of feared for my life when I would stir the horde near the trash cans. I had already thinned a lot of them out by the time this arrived, but this is Texas. Texas flies don't give up. They like to hang out in our garage, which is attached to our kitchen. We let dogs in and out frequently from there, so flies have a lot of opportunity to get in. I hooked this baby up, set it up above my trash can in the kitchen, and walked away for just a few minutes. I came back and there was already two losers who had fallen for the trap. Then we lost power from the traditional Texas thunderstorms. The flies got a reprieve.... I didn't think I'd catch many as a result. The power came back on around 2am, and so did the light. By 8am I got up, checked the light, and hallelujah! Several, maybe another 8-10 flies, and some gnats had fallen for the trap already despite it being off half the night. Eager to see how many it catches throughout the day while they are more active. I work in an emergency animal hospital and we have a couple of similar fly lights (different brand and style, but same concept), which is why I went with this myself. Simple design that works. No loud zapping noises (although I kind of wanted a zapper for the satisfaction of hearing them be obliterated, I didn't want to smell of crispy bugs), really easy to install (I used nails for now until I decide if I want to anchor it more permanently somewhere), and the unit looks nice other than the cord dangling down from the wall. I believe it can be directly tied into the electrical lines to avoid this, which I may have done eventually if I can harrass my former-electrician boyfriend into doing it after I decide on a permanent location. All and all, very satisfied with my new fly control. I may buy another one for the flies who venture deeper into the house and get lost in the bedrooms and bathrooms.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I cannot find my manual. The bulb seems to have a clear plastic wrapping on it. Am I supposed to remove it?**
A: I believe the plastic wrapping on the bulb is to keep the bulb from shattering. In commercial kitchens it is a requirement to have shatter resistant bulbs or a plastic sleeve over the bulb to keep shards of glass from accidentally getting into food that is being prepared just in case the bulb were to crack or get damaged.

**Q: Where do I find replacement bulbs?**
A: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DKSHRNZ/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ZU0wDbWYRK0T1

**Q: how long does the bulb last? I did read there was no replacement bulbs to purchase.**
A: If you look at Philip's website, the bulb will last about 10,000 hours but the efficacy of the bulb to produce the needed light to attract flying insects diminishes 35% after 6000 hours. If you want it to stay working the best it can, I would say replace every year if the fixture is on 24/7 unless you use it in an area where it is only on one day a week or something special.

**Q: Does this attract ladybugs?**
A: No Good bugs are not attracted to UV light... only the bad bugs are attracted to UV. I have had praying mantis (3) "hang-out" waiting for insects to be attracted to the area. Easy Grub

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective and attractive fly trap
*by T***Z on April 16, 2023*

Overa all a nice fly trap even if a bit on the pricy side. Mine was in use for about a year and 3 months when the bulb went out. I wasn't in a hurry to replace it though since we were going into winter, and we don't have a need for it then. As Spring approached (this year), I finally bought some new bulbs only to find that along with the bulb being out, the light strip itself (with the electronics to light the bulb) had also failed. While there is supposedly a 2-year warranty on the unit, I haven't had a response yet as to how to file a warranty claim. Luckily, you can currently buy a strip and bulb replacement kit for $20. I am hoping the seller stands by the warranty though. When it was working, it worked very well. The blue glow of the bulb attracted a lot of insects - especially those tiny pesky nats. During the height of our fly season, I was changing glue boards on a weekly basis - so, stock up on those glue boards. The glue boards are a bit on the small side so they do fill up quickly. You have to be careful where you mount the light. Mounting it too close to a door with a window, or a door near a window will attract enough insects from outside such that when you open the door, they'll come flying in - especially the moths. 4/27/23 Update: I contacted Faicuk about the premature failure of the light strip. They were very responsive, generally responding within one business day, and after getting the details, quickly shipped me out a replacement unit. Stellar customer service - WOW - Nice to see for a change.
