(Not kidding.) For the past twenty years, I have lived in a house that's like a factory building with 30' ceilings and two 14' x 10' interior shades (large awnings, really) that are one floor up. They're motorized, but whenever I wanted to raise or lower them, I would have to go upstairs to flip the switches.A couple months ago, it occurred to me that there must finally be a reasonably priced WiFi switch I could try. That's when I found these Lora Tap switches. I ordered two and got off to to rocky start. One of the switches was missing two screws and the other was D.O.A. So I requisitioned the broken switch's screws and tested the remaining switch on a workbench before officially installing. I was thrilled to find that it worked, so I installed it and ordered a replacement for its inoperable sibling.Despite the inauspicious beginning, I am thoroughly pleased these switches. Specifically...• It has an excellent build quality. Over the past couple of years, I have tried several different brands of WiFi switches — perhaps even a dozen or more — and I like these the best. I appreciate having the terminal blocks for attaching existing wires. Most WiFi switches have their own wires that needed to be twisted with the existing wiring. It can take up a lot of room in already crowded junction boxes. Plus, the terminal blocks on the Lora Tap are really solid and hold onto the wires without damaging them.• The terminal labeling is very clear. There was no need to read the instructions.• The surface of the switch is also clearly labeled with logical symbols, and the switches are quick to respond.• Most importantly, the switch works perfectly.I have endeavored to only have WiFi switches and bulbs that work with SmartLife, so I wasn't thrilled to add another app to the mix, but it does work well and properly syncs to Google Home. That said, if I use "lower" and "raise" as the verbs, Google Home accepts the commands but the shades don't respond. However, saying "open" and "close" works every time. I suspect that's the third-party app.All 'n all, I am thoroughly pleased that I am no longer running up and down the stairs to open and close the shades (awnings), and am sold on the Lora Tap brand (even if it means using another app).Lastly, I appreciate that Lora Tap hasn't filled their listings with fake reviews. For some other brands, I feel like Sherlock Holmes trying to figure out which reviews are real. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works for storm shutters *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2021* The install is fairly straightforward. My only issue is the faceplate must be used and it will not work in a multi gang switch box. The wiring connections are nice. The switch works fine with Alexa except it's all the way open or closed. The smartlife app allows a partial open or close.
