The blades are sharp and cut a wide spectrum of materials. I had problems cutting a Naugahyde type fabric that was using to cover foam for a seat. A standard pair of good cloth scissors struggled to cut it. These scissors cut the Naugahyde like it was thin paper. I also used it on plastic window screen material. It went right through the screen material as well.
