At first it can be hard to put together because it's only pictures but once I looked up "little tikes slide instructions" on YouTube and watched a video it was much easier. There is not much to put together it's just hard for the green pieces to go or fit into place but the video suggested putting a little dishwashing soap on the holes then putting it in so thats what I did then it was easier and less frustrating. The slide was my daughters big present for her 5th bday (she loved it) I think an even older kid could play on it for sure. Also my daughter is special needs and although it is a little tricky for her transitioning at the top to a sitting position she is learning fast, I'm sure a younger neurotypical child would be able to use this slide as well.
