Well, my mat arrived and I didn't bring it inside because the smell was beyond new tires! Finally, after a week I brought it inside and unrolled it and discovered it to be extremely dirty...and nothing can get this stain off! I can't imagine what it could be? The smell is still there in the gym with an open window three weeks later and it still stinks and we can't use the gym or the mat! It is too heavy to return. I do not recommend this mat to anybody with a small house or apartment. Even with a large house and an independent area this think stinks! It is a hard surface, but it DOES NOT SLIP! Our workout area is in an open area in our room, so the smell is really bothersome. We've tried keeping it outside in out back covered porch to air it out to no avail. If it does not go a way soon, I'll consider this a wasted purchase and put the mat in the garage.
