It's adorable in the pink, looks really cool on me (with my ponytail sticking out the back), and does exactly what I want it to do: provides me shade 360 degrees around my head while allowing my hair to be off my neck. But it's snug. I usually wear my ball caps with 2 posts free and most hats fit me fine. I'm going to wear it anyway and hope I get all sweaty on it and it stretches (before giving me a killer headache). It's a fixed size but it does have some elastic that you could pull this tighter if you have a smaller head and the strap for under the chin is handy too (if it's not wedged on your head already). First off, it fits my head great. It is just snug enough that it stays on my head firmly without any slippage or being loose. It has the draw string in case I was in a windy environment and needed it....however, it fits well enough that I might not even need the draw string. It fits just right and is a comfortable fit as well.The brim of the hat is made of a thicker type material and the top is made of a thin material. On both sides of the top of the hat are mesh areas which will allow for ventilation of the head area. Add that to the thin material at the top of the hat, and it seems like the hat will "breathe easily" and hopefully not get too hot with the hat on.One of the things I love best about the hat....... is the cut out area in the back that allows you to pull a ponytail through or wear a messy bun through the back of the hat. I wear my hair up in a messy bun most of the time. The problem with other hats is that I can't wear my hair up because the hat won't sit right on top of the bun or ponytail. This hat completely alleviates that problem as you can wear your hair up through the gap in the back of the hat. It feels comfortable, fits right, and still looks good even with pulling your hair up. For myself, this is one of the greatest benefits of the hat.The hat itself is visually appealing as well. I ordered the light red one and it looks sort of like a deep magenta/pink color which I really like.I travel quite a bit to hot locales and I believe this hat will feel comfortable, lightweight, and will not be too hot.
