Yes the price is high, but how many other sanders will you have to buy and replace before this one goes out. It does not rip paint off an old boat fast, but if you want to do that use a grinder or a belt sander. The tool works very well. The speed of the sander stays the same off the wood or on, Other sanders have a noticeable slowdown when you put them on the wood. Smooooooth very little vibration. I work on tables and cabinets and for my projects it is perfect.Last year I bought a name brand sander and it lasted 1 year, ONE YEAR, yes it had a three year warranty, but it coust me more time and gas to get it fixed that it was worth.
