This was a great, quick read that was easy to understand. I loved the Take Aways and Take Action questions to think about at the end of each chapter because they made me re-evaluate what I just read, and how I can apply it to my own business. It's set up nicely with well-defined chapters, so if I needed to go back to elaborate on a topic or question, it's easy to access.There are some awesome pictures (diagrams, etc.) that really helped in understanding the concepts, as well. I'm a visual learner, so these came in really handy, and would probably help other visual learners, as well. This book was exceptionally good at pinpointing how to market a product, which is something every consumer OR business owner should read!I want people to need my website more than I need them, as individual readers. This book helped me to understand how to do that, methodically and purposefully - without losing touch with the personal side of it. I really enjoyed this guide it was scary how true it was how the steps lead to habit forming and how you need the certain steps to make a product people will want to keep using and form a habit to it. Even if you are not reading to make a product this book was informative and true I see myself doing this forming habits on sites and to products and this guide shows you why. Thought it was interesting and true people bored log into Facebook because they are lonely I find myself doing this a lot as well as other sites it is crazy how the way it is explained really does draw you in to these sites and products and form habits for you. I liked the study where everyone was given the same wine but they thought they were given more expensive wine over time so they enjoyed that wine more because they thought it was more expensive but it really was the same wine the whole time I see a lot of people who do that just like with placebos people think it is a cure or a fix in there brain so there ok but really it is a placebo it is crazy how much hold products and sites have over us. For someone trying to build a product or site this book would help you if you follow the steps because I myself have so many habits formed now to sites and it is a scary thing how manipulated we all can be by this. it is true Certain emotions just automatically trigger actions now like if I'm bored I listen to music usually Pandora and Google has everyone also because if you dont know something or your confused you automatically now Google things you want to know. The chapters aren't lengthy or overly clinical in their wording. If you are a business owner or even a blogger this is a helpful book to read. The psychological and sociological implications of a "product" are discussed and explained. The why's and how's of getting customers and keeping them are fascinating. The analogy of a customer "scratching an itch" is right on target. This is a great book for anyone running a cottage business, bloggers, or even larger companies to read. The simple, yet insightful information will help anyone succeed in business.
