A: No, this sensor is intended to feed the coolant temperature sensor information to the engine computer itself. The ohm range on it will be incorrect virtually anything else that you try to use it for.

**Q: It says gm models 1978-2013, it also says cadillac from 1980-1985. cadillac is also gm, so a little confusing. will this fit a 1979 cadillac 425 v8?**
A: It's 5/8' -18 thread. Remove the old sensor and measure, then compare.

**Q: will it work for my chevrolette express 2500 6.6 duramax. Year 2006 ?**
A: Sorry, it doesn't fit.

Looked just like the original and it even had silicone already on it so no need to seal the threads yourself. For the price it can't be beat. Most auto parts stores wants $28 for just the sensor. I'll eventually replace with an oem one for peace of mind but until then it's well worth the price to have my truck running normally.
