The dark tone in the outline area was not over done but medium to lightly enhanced. It is stamped 925 on the inside and under the shileld there is a outline of a subtle fish shape that I liked. Overall the ring is understated and not ostentatious and allows you to ware a cross ring you can see as an aditional back up or alternative to a chain and cross that you can not see. It reminds me of the Lords words, to live and serve for Him. if you like get one size larger for a perfect fit, as mine was snug. I have ordered several rings for family as a nice gift. Very happy.
