So I purchased another flash light that has even a red emergency light on it that flashes for emergencies. This one worked great. At first, I was really confused about how many 6V lantern batteries all had only one spring. It took my partner who has a degree in electrical engineering to tell me that the black cap is only a cap on it to prevent the battery from shorting out before it's in use. Now that I was putting it into a flashlight, I was supposed to take off the cap. Indeed, it came off with no problems. The flashlight now works again. It's good to have a flashlight.Cons: The battery had a tiny crack in the side. I asked my partner, "Is this going to leak battery acid?" The answer is no. The casing is there to prevent water from getting in, so as long as I know the flashlight will be away from water at all times, it's ok.
