It has no backing whatsoever. Wound ironing this stuff on the back stabilise it?** A: If it was me, I would. It will give it some stability **Q: Does this stretch at all?** A: No you just cut out and iron onto the fabric, I have been using old t shirts to make a quilt so needed the interfacing to stop the stretch while machine sewing. **Q: Would this be suitable for stabilising a tee shirt blanket, please? Thank you for your help.** A: I think so, I used it to back old tee shirts and other items of clothing cut up to make a quilt, found it so much easier to machine sew all pieces together. **Q: Can this be used on an item that will be machine washed** A: I haven't used it! I didn't open the package for ages & then discovered that this "lightweight" interfacing is actually like cardboard! Not at all like I had previously used, I suppose I'll use it for something eventually.
