Please note, the base of the storage case is smaller than the top. The measurements reflect lower base. The largest single box you could fit in this would be 14" L x 9" W x 9" H which is 1134 cubic inches or 20 quarts. Sure the volume may say it is near 30 quarts, but the bends, bulges, and angles of the design inhibit uniform packing of the box. By no means is this a huge downside, it still fits quite a bit and the design is appealing. I would say there would be close to 22 quarts of usable space. If it were liquid, yes, it would probably be close or right on 30 quarts. This is still a solid product.
