They were easy enough to put together. Since I used half-pints, the jars slid right into the hangers. All of the lights worked right away, although I did dislodge a battery when pulling the little plastic strip out. I think the best part about these lights is that the battery is easily replaceable. Most other solar lights require disassembly and possibly soldering to fix, whereas with these, it's a simple rechargeable AAA. I think the strand length of these particular lights are perfect for the half-pints. The size provides a nice density of light. I'm using these to decorate my garden fence and my greenhouse. I charged these under the Sun throughout the day. We placed them inside mason jars purchased from the .99 store and they fit perfectly. They are mainly used for light on the sides of our steps. The other mason jars (address numbers) were another project made from solar lid lights removed from garden light stakes that were and placed on the mason jar lids. We frosted the glass for a soft glow to enhance the address numbers. This was a fun project with the kids and they enjoyed assembling them.
