Turns out there is good reason for such as the circuit board is turned upside down and can not properly (heat rises) cool. Voided the warranty by prying the case apart to modify for at least 4 times more heat removal. The top now becomes the bottom. Infrared thermometer gave 98 degree fahrenheit reading after modification which is still too hot. Box arrived with the SPDIF optical output not working. When attempting to install "Rootless Launcher" device automatically on boot up reverts to the included obsolete launcher.
