The first 10 mats or so pulled great. Then, not so much. Now they just slip off. Well, one slips off consistently and the other about 50% of the time. No way to tighten the grip that I can determine. I use it to move mats. With the Grabbit, I can easily move mats that measure 1" thick x 4' x 5'. It is extremely difficult to move a mat this size or larger by using your hands only. You can't get a good grip. With this device I've also been able to move mats that are 1" thick x 5' x 10'. Granted, it is more difficult, but it is doable. I have moved some mats that are more smooth or worn i.e. no ribbing, ridges... where the Grabbit will slip off; however, you can easily push forward & hold the piece that grabs the mat to move it. It seems to be very durable as I've had no problems or breakage.
