Only 5 or 10 secs more made it far too hot for me. It does seem to cool a bit faster with only 30 secs, but again, it lasts the 5 mins I need it for. Wasn't a fan of adding in the smaller pads. I noticed a lot of other migraine users mentioning how it got deeper into the eye socket. For me, even without it I can feel the cold in there, and the added pads were uncomfortable.
