I was worried the ink and ball point would not be very smooth, since often products will be of less quality in one feature to have the other quality, such as lights in this case. The writing is smooth, the ink flow is not too much or too little, and it's easy to write with. I am surprised how nice they are to write with and I love that about them. The lights are also great. The blue one can be a little too bright when I'm tired, so the red is much softer and nicer. However, on other days the blue light is fine. Also, it doesn't actually look blue, it's just referring to the warmth factor of the light. It's a cool light vs. a yellow warm light like the red. Some people are saying that the clicking sound the pen makes is too loud. I don't find the sound any louder than a regular clicking pen. I've heard louder clicking pens than this. The only minor issue was a battery was corroded in one of the pens. I replaced it with a backup and it works fine. Both pens work great.
