The slippage will damage the mandrel. Also the center hole diameter for most 4" wheel is too large for this mandrel. **Q: Need to cut inside 2” pipe. Like to use 1/4” extension and mandrel w/ 1/4” shank. Would this work maybe w/ 1 1/2” blade (3/8” arbor?)thanks** A: I use mine to cut 3 and 4 inch pipe with a 3 inch wheel works great **Q: The bolt sticks to the mandrel after one use. Difficult to remove. Is there a tool to release it so I can easily change cutoff wheels?** A: This drill mount didn't have any threads on the bolt that goes in to the mandrel. I'm guessing i got a lemon out of the bunch. But yes a regular flat head should do the trick for releasing the bolt from the mandrel.
