## Description

The Yamaha ENG-METER-4C-01 Deluxe Engine Meter (Hour/Tach) helps you keep track of your engine's operating hours. The Deluxe Engine Meter includes pre-programmed service intervals at 10 hours (initial) and every 50 hours thereafter. A flash alert displays for a 2-hour period upon reaching the specified interval. It includes hour meter and tachometer functions. The operating temperature is -40-degrees Fahrenheit to 160-degrees Fahrenheit. The -40-degree Celsius battery life is 7-10 years (non-serviceable). It works with all Yamaha gasoline generators and pumps.

Review: Worth the money - Good quality. Screen is very easy to see. Installation didn’t take too long after watching a how to video. The last generator that I purchased I bought a cheep one of these (not YAMAHA) and the quality was not good and the screen was hard to see. Spend the extra $$ and get a good quality one like this. Yamaha puts out good products.
Review: The hour meter works fine - Installed the hour meter on my 90 Hp outboard motor. It is underneath the cover so it will be necessary to remove cover to check the engine hours for maintenance and oil changes. But at least I can do that now. Too bad Yamaha doesn’t provide one for the motor anyway for the cost of the motor itself it seems logical that it would have a meter for that.

**Q: is this water/dirt proof?**
A: The unit is sealed in epoxy and has no openings for batery or any other way to open it.It also works on induction, so it doesn't physically require an electrical connection to make it work.I have not tried immersing mine, but I expect it to handle normal conditions where it might get wet.

A: Yes it will.

A: Yes , Basically, this works on any engine that has spark plug wire .

Good quality. Screen is very easy to see. Installation didn’t take too long after watching a how to video. I purchased this in conjunction with my Yamaha EF2400i generator to keep track of the hours for maintenance. Very easy installation. I decided to install it permanently on the front panel with the screws. I chased the lines through the panel, under the fuel tank to the spark plug wire. Everything is included for the installation. I read somewhere the sealed battery only lasts three years. Even at this, with a purchase price of $10.00 it will be a easy and inexpensive change-out for the next three years. Well worth the price. Less than an hour on the installation.
