## Questions & Answers

**Q: does it work with win8.1?**
A: Yes, and no. It can be messed with via DL'ing certain things that cause the game to run- but it has to have the latest updates for the pirates and nobles to work. That being said, EA's latest update has a game breaking bug that will cause Sims Medieval to crash and mess up. That was several years ago, and they are not going to fix it because the game itself is no longer 'popular'/ making much money. You might be able to find some downloads that could help, but I could not tell you which ones are safe to run. I tried for 3 days before and lost a good 50 hours of progress in the game before I came to terms that EA stole from me. After I got the base game done, figured out a work around the updates thing and started to play- it would literally delete my characters as I played. Several times it deleted my king or queen as played other characters and I could literally not continue the game at all. My advice would to be to skip the entire game completely, there will be heart ache either way. If you are really determined, you could go for it and maybe you will yield better results than me- Just be prepared! Hope I helped!

**Q: this is a disc but can I download it?**
A: I am sure the medieval company has a download for sale on their website, for most pc games company do. But weather or not it will sync with your systems I advise looking really closely to what your system uses and what the download will work on. Best of luck!

**Q: It says I need the sims medieval installed. I thought this was the sims medieval! Also, it's in some other language?**
A: This is an expansion pack called Pirates and Nobles for the base game The Sims Medieval. Contact the seller about it being in a different language, especially if you think it won't work. Hopefully they can exchange it for you or at least give you a refund.

**Q: do you reccomend this game**
A: The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles is an expansion pack to The Sims Medieval but I love it so I do recommend this game.* YOU NEED THE SIMS MEDIEVAL TO INSTALL THIS EXPANSION PACK*

    Excellent expansion set.

*by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2012*

I've found myself turning to "The Sims Medieval" over "The Sims 3" lately--just wanting a change, I guess. It has a charming simplicity to it and runs much better on my Mac (I think it's crashed like twice the whole time I've had it). Because I use both a Mac and PC, I get physical CD copies when I can that'll run on both platforms so I don't double-buy.The disk came quickly from the vendor in the condition promised and installed just fine on both my computers. Registration was simple and easy and got me into game immediately. Be aware that the launcher's promised discount registration reward is only good on certain Origin things--not simpoints, pre-orders, or new releases.Ingame, the expansion adds a bunch of objects, hairs, makeups, and clothes, and adds some new functionality to the game in the way of eagles and falcons, as well as interrogation chairs with cute animations and a new ability to dig holes for treasure (some of it found via maps you must assemble, but most of it just by running around digging randomly--and yes, you can fill in the holes once you're done digging them). A major ingame multi-quest series, a war between two factions, is added to the many quests that you can send your Heroes on, and there are some fun new Traits and kingdom Ambitions. Of these, "Dread Pirate" is without a doubt my favorite new trait--it lets you give Secret Pirate Handshakes to other pirates, use pirate maneuvers in fights, lead pirate raids, and rob mailboxes for pirate tribute (exactly like how the Spy already does it, but it doesn't pay as well). The raids get all kinds of cute stories and outcomes, including one that is a direct nod to the original "Ghostbusters" movie. The new weapons are a blast, seriously--my Spy uses Frostfang, which turns her into a shimmery blue ghost-looking gal for the duration of the fight. I also like the variety of falcons and parrots--falcons bring ancient bones and meat back, while parrots bring treasure and fruit back; their operation can be a little clumsy, especially in how they stop all other interactions until they're dealt with, but overall they are fun to play with. I enjoyed the a multitude of new potions and smith creations available to make and liked seeing the new Achievements to reach. This expansion is still age-appropriate for the Sims Medieval setting: T for Teen. There's nothing too overt about any of it, though, so mature younger kids will probably do fine with this game. It has no cursing, no overt sex, no nudity, and it's no more damaging to religion or morality than the first title was.I can see someone being disappointed with this set because it really doesn't hugely expand the game in terms of objects/CAS stuff, and it only includes one Ambition and a few new Traits. Also, be advised that it doesn't actually introduce any new professions for your Sim heroes, despite the title of the expansion set; the only thing that comes close is that "Dread Pirate" trait, but it sits atop your profession like any other trait might. But me, I personally really liked the added gameplay stuff and the new multi-quest war, which hangs over the entire game; even in non-war quests, daily responsibilities may include war needs like making boarding pikes and acquiring wigs for disguises. I liked that over-arching structure."Pirates and Nobles" continues the Sims Medieval franchise by adding a few new perks that revitalize the gameplay. If you have been thinking falcons and digging for treasure sound neat and you've liked the idea of more pirate-y or Tredonian-y stuff ingame, then you might like this expansion a lot.

*by C***H on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2012*

The Sims Medieval is up there with the quality of Disney films. Shen Sic (Thank you) EA. I wonder what Du Vain Zoric and Bara Nay means? My first saved game I called Isle of Twilight. This wee bit of a poem will give you an idea of how much I am enjoying this game.Come one, come all, I won't bite. What adventures await in the Isle of Twilight. My Knight Godric is the best. He's rid my kingdom of bandits now I can rest.Plague-infested Sims are not having fun, waiting for Physician Leoric to brew up a potion.Bard Bella can serve and cook a great meal. Stop by her tavern and try her Soup of Eel.Feeling bored? Visit Blacksmith Sven who will craft you a sword.Enjoy thyself. My kingdom awaits. Signed, Lord EdwardPardon me my liege as I approach the mountain rim, adventure awaits me in the Realm of the Sim.

    If Windows 8, beware

*by Y***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2013*

An issue with the original Sims Medieval, with regards to Windows 8, is that you cannot update it. The update and Windows 8 do not work together. There are a few mods out there that say they can fix this issue, but they did not work for me. Why is this important for this product? Well, in order to install this product, you need to update the original. This causes the Catch-22 of game not working. I bought this product not realizing I would have to update the original. Therefore, I have not been able to play this game and will be returning it which is the reason for the rating. If there is a fix, I would love to hear it as I enjoyed the original.
