These hockey stick pencils were much higher quality than we expected.  We used them as prizes for summer reading club at the library where I work.  Even the girls wanted them because they are cute.  The pencil is square, but we had no problem sharpening them in our electric pencil sharpener.  The "blade" of the stick is an eraser.  It works well.  It's not one of those smeary erasers that you often get on pencils.  The words "Hockey Pencil" are on two sides of the pencil, and there is over two inches of pencil before you get to the words, so the words won't disappear the first time you sharpen it.

My daughter's elementary school doesn't allow food items to be shared with classmates for birthdays, so we searched for something fun she could hand out to each classmate instead.  These pencils were perfect, as she plays hockey!  The main part of the pencil is square but seemed to sharpen just fine.  The blade of the hockey stick is an eraser.  It's quite heavy, but looks awesome.  I was sad that my daughter's eraser broke in half when she tried using it - so keep that in mind.  The eraser may have been older and dry - or maybe it's just for show an not really for erasing.

These were exactly what I was looking for. My hockey loving son wanted to give his friends hockey sticks for Valentines Day. I ordered these and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. These pencils sharpened well and the erasers worked well. The students in my his class loved receiving these. I will be purchasing again as a favor for a hockey themed birthday party.I received the 4 colors shown- red, black, green, and blue. There were 6 of each color.
