It practically begs for a lurid rendering in graphic (and I mean !graphic!) novelization. That book, of course, is the Old Testament (Gen. 38). This rendering, suitably lurid, presents a telling of Onan's story. Yes that Onan, from whom we derive our word for onanism.I haven't gone back to King James or any other source to check accuracy, but the broad outline of Thamara's story seems believable. She's really the central character of this sordid saga, no matter who it's remembered for. It starts with a drunken father, selling her off for a few more flasks of wine. One of the good guys, Juda, examines her in depth to establish virginity. He then passes her from son to son like some party favor. Onan appears as one of those sons, with poorly explained problems around the marriage bed and a poorly explained death after a poor performance. Then, once the calendar says it shouldn't happen, widowed Thamara shows up in the motherly way. She's about to be burned at the stake for fornication when, all of a sudden, she demonstrates not only that a man was involved, but a man of high political standing - oops, so sorry, didn't really mean that stake for you. If he's the one, then we just wipe the record and welcome the fruit of your womb.Now, take all that, and add babes of bounding boobage, clothing transparent when present at all, and men with massive endowments and chronic priapism. If curvy hip and cantilevered bust mean more than individual distinctions between one woman and another, and if you tolerate some amount of aggression, non-consensual activity, and perversity, then this Bible story might be for you.
