They also are flexing nicely, so that is all great. However, where the blade meets the handle, the manufacturer chose to leave a gap. That makes the whole design a bit more wobbly but most importantly, water will get in into the handle whether it is being washed by hand or by dishwasher. They make it easy to do a crumb coat on layer cakes then add your regular coat of frosting. They're sturdy and leave a nice smooth surface. Very comfortable to hold. Thought I was getting the wood handles but received the all metal ones. At first I was disappointed but after using them for awhile, I've decided I actually like the all metal ones better. I think they'll last longer, especially if you put them in the dishwasher.
