My first pair lasted 15 or more years??? I've had them so long that I can't remember. The old ones had worn so it was time to get a new pair. The new ones are the same rugged construction & work just as well. You can't feel any heat at all with these on. My only criticism on the new pair is that they inverted the seams to make them puff up so there is a opening...I preferred the old version which was sewed flat.
