### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A family favorite, I've bought copies for my two daughters

I love this book. I bought my first copy at a Scandinavian store in Ballard/Seattle when our kids were young and many of the recipes have become family traditions. The recipe for Swedish Meatballs is better than any recipe on the Internet (most use allspice and nutmeg, but her recipe also uses ginger). Last time I made it, a friend asked my wife wife if we purchased the meatballs from Ikea, and my wife told her that I made these and they were better than Ikea's. Her friend has since bought this book as well.In fact, I'm making Royal Pot Roast of Beef (Slottsstek) as I write this. Another absolutely amazing, flavorful recipe. If you don't like cook books that don't offer pictures, don't let that deter you, pictures would increase the cost. And one reviewer mentioned that the recipes aren't healthy. That person should stay away probably all cuisines except Mediterranean. These are not dishes one would eat everyday. Most are holiday fair for special occasions.Smaklig måltid!

This book looks to have it all and if you love Scandinavian cooking as I do, I highly recommend it - as well as Ms. Oakangas' other books.

I have not tried any of the recipes in this book as of yet. However it does make me excited to see the meal plans that are provided and to get back to the roots of my Scandinavian heritage.
