Original clothes washing machine looked clean, but smelled like musty mold. It was a top load LG w stainless tub, appeared to be a higher end model. Unit ran great, was probably neglected by previous owner. No visible mold though. Tried running 3 different hot loads with bleach, no improvement at all. Tried running load w a few rags and a ton of vinegar, no improvement. Tried 1 of these tablets, issue resolved 75%. Ran another tablet the next day, issue resolved 100%. It's now been a few months and issue has not returned. Problem solved. Highly recommended this brand. It's not a gimmick. Would buy again.
