Review: Accurate performance and NO double shots responses! - When I purchased my SIRT training pistol for safe home dryfire practice, I wanted to set up some sort of interactive target system to help immerse me during practice. I first set up a paper target on my studio door and used my phone's camera to track my shots. This method works great, but I constantly find myself needing to use my phone for other things. I then explored this Keiron unit. I do agree with most people in online forums that the item is a bit pricey for what you get, but all in all it's very accurate in registering your shots and most important of all it does NOT register two shots when you only fired one. I had that issue with other expensive laser targets that I had to return, but this one has been working great so far, especially with all the different training modes. I will probably be getting some more of these targets, but the cheaper ones without the display since this one will keep track of the time already. Highly recommended!! Review: I wish I could give it 4.5 stars - This works well, so well I ordered a second one for my daughter. I must down-rate it a little bit though because there’s a tiny display with two tiny buttons to toggle through the menu and select ...and the instructions really could be a lot clearer. Start with “ok you’ve turned it on for the first time... now press THIS button to advance to choosing what mode, then press THAT button to accept.” Whenever I want to change anything I wind up struggling a bit. Other than that, this is a great learning tool. I use a generic red laser bullet. Once I managed to find the correct mode, Speed or Concealed Carry, then it will stay in that mode when you turn it off (and restart). So I put a tiny nail in the wall to hang this on about chest high (it has a convenient nail hole in the back) and then hold the lower button to turn it on. After it runs through its initialization it then starts its routine: the red light flashes with its beep, and I shoot it. A few random seconds later it signals again, and I shoot again, and after a few random seconds later it signals yet again. When I am done shooting for the last shot, as soon as I have shot then step over to the unit and hit the lower button to review my times. Not the top button! That erases all the time data... I found out the hard way, I don’t think the instructions tell you. Anyhow, keep hitting the lower button to cycle through the individual times (from its beep to your shot). I think it records up to 999 shots but I typically only go thirty or so. To turn it off, hold the lower button a second or so, then confirm with the top button. It won’t save your shot data but at least it starts back up on the last mode you were using. The target area is sized pretty much perfectly as far as I am concerned, 4” wide by 5.5” high when hung from the nail in its intended orientation. I am not using it for bullseye target shooting, just for self-defense training in the home, and I back up maybe 10 or 15 feet which would be typical for my house, I don’t live in a mansion. Even at that short range it’s imperative to use the sights—it’s not just about getting a shot off quickly, it’s getting that shot off AND hitting an anatomically significant target, typically COM and that target size is just about right in my opinion. Of course, I sincerely hope I never need to defend myself in such a manner but using this laser target is a great training tool for the unthinkable.
