Or can you leave the air inside it in between?** A: You can leave the air inside, but it easier to store/put away without the air in it. Plus, it keeps the shaft clean if you take the air out as it goes back inside the stick. You should wipe down the shaft, then take the air out when you are done using it. I carry around an air pump in my backpack so I can fill it up when I go places. Plus, you can attach it to a backback uninflated and carry it around to parks a lot easier. Just submit to the inevitable and buy one now and then come finish the rest of this review. I'll admit that I've only had mine a few days, but the thing is built like a tank. I am notorious for over-engineering projects around the house. I know what I was like as a kid and how I would break the strongest of things. This thing is so over-engineered it's almost a work of art. I'm 41 and roughly 200lbs. If I am going to jump on a pogo stick, I want it to be as seriously beefy as I can get it. This thing fits the bill for me perfectly. I received it as a birthday gift from my wife a couple days ago and I just ordered one for her because she was jealous and thought it looked like fun. This really is pogo-ing as it was meant to be. I am not 17 and I will not ever be doing any 180 backflips on the thing, but that won't stop me from trying to learn some tricks. Although, I can hardly wait until my kids are old enough that I can get one for them and see what they'll be able to do. With less than one hour on it I could hop one handed with either hand. Still struggling with taking a foot off and putting it back while airborne, I think I just need to jump higher. Hopping one footed wasn't all that difficult to pick up, though. At least at low altitudes. And if you're looking for a work out, shazbot! It'll get your heart pumping in no time. Talk about a core work out to boot. I don't actually feel like I'm doing much work, but after a couple of minutes I am breathing hard and my heart is going strong. I am thinking 20 minutes of this and then hit the trails on my mountain bike or unicycle for an hour and I will be in great shape in no time. If you are looking for something to dislike in all this, it's that there isn't enough time in the day to use it more. I found two different manufacturers and then I started hunting details, videos, manufacturing process, weight limits and so on. I was lead to a review on Amazon about a man close to 300 lbs who had bought one. I found in that Review that size didn't seem to matter which is good as I am 6' tall and 275 lbs. I weight about 195 pounds and am 5'11". This pogo is excellent. Unlike a snowboard or other extreme sports equipment this stick is adaptable. Yes you need a bike pump (American connection, not European) to do so though. The construction quality is excellent, barely scratches when I drop it off a bad jump. Took me a day or so to learn how to use it, but all my friends who tried it got it within the first hour. My only concern is the longevity of the lubrication in the tube and the dust accumulation which can lessen the jumping ability of the pogo over time. I also see alot of the pros use grip tape on the pegs. I don't use any, but would probably recommend these as certain shoes can slip off without it on large jumps. Most of all though this thing is just plain fun.
