I have clocks elsewhere, and an Amazon Echo show, the new larger one, so it's not that I can't look SOMEWHERE and see the time - but this was just at a spot that I've had a clock since we built the house, so it's always a reflex to look there first even when I'm looking at the TV with another digital clock in the entertainment center just under it... Muscle memory basically...The one I had was the other well known brand, and it worked fine for several years, but recently started getting totally whacked out, changing time, year, day, going from 12 to 24 hour, all with brand new batteries and the atomic signal sync turned off (since it's not a great signal here in Wisconsin). I finally decided to toss it and get something else.I needed something with a central hook point - not two hanging points. I didn't want to deal with changing things around on the wall, I had a nail there, wanted to keep using that single nail. And this works just fine with it.Setup is simple, easy to change 12/24 since I prefer 24 hour clock being a veteran. Easy to change F/C at will.Upon initial powerup, it looked like the screen was broken and the liquid crystal had spilled "inside" everywhere. Over the course of a minute or two, it started "neatening itself up."LOVE the big numbers. I don't wear glasses, but it's still nice having the larger numbers there. The numbers alone as as large as the entire screen was for the old clock, but I still get the date, temp, and humidity inside, they're just smaller on the edge, which is fine by me.So far it's been reliable and keeping good time. So for the price, this is probably the best one I've had of this type... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Medium-Large Desk or Wall Clock, Atomic Function Works Well *by T***O on February 18, 2022* Clock arrived in great condition. After checking instructions for the less than intuitive way to change time zones and daylight savings status, I set that up and pressed the wave button. Within about five minutes the clock had set date and time accurately. The face is viewable from about 30° above or below plane, but one must be within a fairly narrow angle from left to right to see the segments clearly, otherwise they start "ghosting". I plan to keep it on the top shelf of a desk and may try to adhere lead adhesive weights to the back stand so that it helps level out the angle it sits at to be closer to perpendicular. The lead will help keep it from tipping forward while providing just enough lift. This will make it easier to read while sitting at said desk and still be viewable while standing.UPDATE: After several years of dealing with manual DST changes, and forgetting how it works each half year, I have finally determined (and written down) what works to update DST on this Marathon. It doesn't happen automatically, at least where the clock normally resides. I found that moving it to the other side of the house, in the kitchen near a window, then tapping the WAVE button once, allows it to find the sync signal and update time within about 5 minutes. The antenna strength animation above the 'M' logo (bottom right corner) is two or three bars high vs one bar when trying this in the clock's normal location. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use, super large numbers *by L***. on May 9, 2019* The numbers are almost comically large, however the fact that it is not illuminated in any way means the large numbers make it easier to read in low light. It required essentially zero setup. I slid the setting over to DST, then to my time zone, then slid both batteries inside, and it had set itself within two or three minutes. The appearance is attractive and ties in well with our living room setup.The only change I would like to see, and I'd be completely willing to pay extra for this feature, is to have a corded version available with a super faint backlight. I'd still like it to have batteries inside, but when running on corded power it would be amazing to have the background just barely illuminated for lower light rooms. It would also mean the batteries would need replacing every few years instead of every few months.The display shows AM/PM, Hour:Minute, Month/Day, Weekday, Ambient Temp, Seconds, then an indicator for how connected it is for atomic accuracy.
