This is perfect for goldfish, or any fish that like digging up plants from the substrate and destroying them. I wasn't sure what to expect but it's bigger and taller than I thought it would be. It's almost too big for my 5-gallon aquarium but the dwarf crayfish love it. It offers color, texture and hiding places for the crayfish but it also helps to replenish oxygen in the water. I've only had the plant for over a week but I'm very happy with it. I assume that I should leave these in the supplied pots, and simply bury the pots in the existing gravel.** A: No- you take them out and remove as much of the plant wool as possible. Leaving them in the pot will stunt their growth or even kill them over time . **Q: Would it survive my red eared sliders assaults? I had 6 armubias plants that I glued on a small rocks and unfortunately, my baby destroyed them all** A: Not really. It isn’t strong if they try to eat it. You will have a bald piece of driftwood like I do. **Q: Does the driftwood leeches tannins in the water?** A: I soaked mine for 2 days before placing in my aquarium and I haven't noticed any changes in the color of my water. **Q: I just received this today. There are little yellow balls underneath of it. I’m trying to decide if they are fertilizer or some sort of pest egg?** A: Could be snail eggs wash well isolate before adding to aquarium.
