## Description

INTRODUCTIONLattePanda V1(Unactivated, 2GB/32GB) is the smallest and cheapest X86 SBC in LattePanda Family. It has everything a regular PC has and can do anything that a regular PC does. Due to the global shortage of Raspberry Pi, if you are looking for a Raspberry Pi alternative, we have a product that can meet your needs: LattePanda V1. It can achieve all the functions that Raspberry Pi 4B can achieve, not to mention that it also supports the Windows 10 operating system. In the current situation where Raspberry Pi 4B is out of stock and prices are soaring, LattePanda V1 is your best choice! Review: Running 24/7 for two years. - The lattepanda is amazing it was very easy to get up and running and has been running since May 9th 2017 24/7. My main use is to control my home automation system surfing the web from time to time and checking email periodically. I purchased the starter kit with the acrylic case was very easy to assemble. All you have to do is match up the numbers to the corresponding piece and before you know it you're done, took me about 30 minutes it may take others less time since I have Tremors in the hands and that causes delays in assembling things. The power supply the came with the starter kit finally died September 26th. I first started noticing problems with the adapter about the beginning of September when trying to launch Explorer or trying to login after the screensaver kicked in and it turned off my monitor. At first I thought it was an update that I installed on my home automation system and at the same time I installed an IP camera. Eventually I was able to get Windows to a stable state for a few days and then eventually anytime I launched Explorer or my networking. Windows would shut down however the lattepanda would show that the ethernet cable was still active LEDs blinking the arduino chip was responding even though I didn't have Windows access just a blank screen. I also notice that the power adapter was increasingly getting warmer and warmer as time went on. I suspect that this was due to it not quite being able to supply the amperage the lattepanda requires. I plugged the lattepanda into my power adapter that came with my Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone and it booted right up. The power adapter that came with the starter kit has enough kick left in it to someone charge my phone but I'm not going to use it for fear it failing totally and messing up my phone. I'm thinking about purchasing another lattepanda for another project.
Review: So far so good, cool little Windows capable board - I'd been toying around with getting Windows 10 running on an RPi4 w/8GB but too many features not working, primarily RPi touchscreen. I came across this and bought one along with the IPS display and digitizer. It arrived quickly, I got it setup and booted. It comes with Home edition installed but not activated with a user profile already setup, Windows version 1809. I downloaded the latest version from MS and created an USB installer. I got it booted to the USB and was able to install Windows with no issues. I used SnappyDriver to install missing drivers only, if you ever use this, only select missing drivers, too many times when doing newer drivers also it breaks things. So, I like it, it's a relatively quick little puter, the last Atom processor I played with was a Dell Netbook years ago, Atom's have come a LONG way! Also, previous to receiving, I'd asked a question about dual monitors and got a reply no from another user. I bought this to use in an RPi case with ribbon cable touchscreen and connect it to a bigger monitor via HDMI. I tested this, and it does indeed run 2 monitors and switches fine between duplicate and extend. Back to the touchscreen, I was unable to get it to function, even after searching and following recommended procedure so I returned it and will look at other options. One thing I like about the RPi touchscreen is it only has one ribbon cable for display and touch, shame LattePanda didn't do something similar. I like it though so far, and once done with this project will be looking at an Alpha model.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: do you support drivers for win 7 , can't stand win 10**
A: Man. I was given a win7 computer at work after mine died for a few weeks - until dell shipped a replacement part- but I couldn’t stand going back to windows 7. Are you sure you just haven’t written it off without a fair shake yet? I know it’s a bit different - and that can be scary. And some people hate change. But I think windows 10 is, in nearly every way, better.

**Q: Is it 64bit**
A: Hey, the advanced 4G/64G version can only install the 64-bit OS.

**Q: Linux?? windows 10 is trash**
A: Support Linux. You can download it in LattePanda Website: https://www.lattepanda.com/

**Q: LattePanda don't have a proper Tech-Support or any customer services or any kind of customer care information in their website?**
A: The online community requires LattePanda customer service to give you an account. So far it's 4 days with no response from them. So they are essentially blocking anyone from asking for help.

### ⭐ Corrupted BIOS
*by S***. on August 30, 2018*

I received this product with no physical issues. I read that I needed to have a pretty beefy power supply that needed to be AT LEAST 5V 2A. So I saw from in forums that people have had issues with 2A and it shutting off randomly if they load up the USB bus or the arduino portion of the board where it would exceed 2A. I hooked it up to my bench power supply and powered it 5.1 V ( to compensate for cable loss) 3A. It worked fine and set up windows once and shut it down to mess with it the next day. Keep in mind that I shut it down properly according to what the support techs suggested on the forums. I turn it on the next day and I have a constant red light with a blue light indicating a corrupted BIOS. I saw that this was a common problem regardless of what power supply was used. I don't recommend this board for any development due to the unstable nature of this board and how easily the BIOS can be corrupted. They told me to spend more money on a chip flasher that I don't have. Even though they aren't expensive, how many more times am I going to have to deal with the same issue and how often is this going to keep getting corrupted? I'm returning this product because I don't even want to deal with it.
