They are very comfortable with extra wrist support but most important is that the area around the fingers is extra long to fully cover the second knuckles which is something you won't find on other MMA style gloves. So if you want to use MMA gloves on a bag these are the ones to get. Other gloves leave your second knuckles exposed and you will lose a lot of skin very quickly. As far as grappling/sparring/competing I would rather use a different glove. Having more finger protection is good for bag hitting but makes my fingers feel a little more restricted for grappling. On top of that these gloves have a bar across the palm so unless you remove it you really don't want to use these for grappling. And that extra wrist support adds to the restrictive feeling as well. So they are perfect for the bag but that's all. Maybe good for boxing/kickboxing but you may as well use larger boxing gloves for that. My hands are thin but large so the XL size fits just right. After a few weeks of break in they fit perfect and feel great. The only problem with the size is that with hand-wraps they are too tight. So I have to modify the way I wrap my hands by extending most of the wrap down my wrist. No big deal but I might go for a XXL if it was available. I wish Harbinger to start making some gel padding for knuckle protection since over time, the form padding gets somehow harden up/compacted and start hurting the knuckles. Initially, I gave these gloves a 1-star rating and a rather lengthy negative review. These gloves simply do not offer suitable wrist protection for hitting a heavy bag as they come, but with some added wrist support they are a pretty good option. I would think about ordering a size bigger so that you can wear wrist wraps underneath. I was able to improvise a solution with gear that I already own. I have been using a pair of Grizzly Fitness Power Training Wrist Wraps and they really helped to lock down my wrists when I was hitting the bag. I might be the only one in the world doing this, but it works well for me. I ended up being pretty happy with this solution, but I wish I ordered a size larger, because there is no way I can get wrist wraps underneath the large size.
