A lot of reviews indicated that they ran too slim. My son wears slims in all his pants and always does best with adjustable waistbands, like these have. The Dickies do not seem overly slim at all, but fit him well. He is seven years old, in first grade, weighs around 48 pounds and does very well in the size 8 pants that I bought him, although they are a bit long. They look nicer and hold their color better than any other navy pants he has worn. The reinforced knees are great. One caution--I did not expect the small Dickies logo on the back of the pants.
