He is an auto mechanic and had his finger partially amputated in a work-related accident. Luckily, the healing went well, but he still wanted extra protection for the newly grown skin, something that was comfortable and would allow movement but that would keep out oil and debris and would offer some cushioning. I gave him some silicon caps I had that were made for fingers, but they were uncomfortably tight. These gel toe caps were a better fit.
