It is non-ticking, which is why I ordered it; Unfortunately, I didn't take into consideration the font size/style of the numbers. :-( Since the clock face is only 9-inches, the skinny font is a bit challenging to read from across the room. The single clock arrived first and as soon as I put the batteries in I could hear it grinding. It’s not such a big deal if it is one, but I am concerned that if I complete my project and they are all noisy it will be quite annoying. I will wait for the other clocks to arrive to see if maybe this one is just broken.
