It will accept all rolls of paper. I don't know what you mean by type. I use savage paper backdrops. But a word of warning, I only bought this because it was one of the few that was 12' wide for a display banner. If you don't need 12 feet, I would suggest you buy the savage one. I have been using it for years with no problem. This impact one sucks. It doesn't lock well into place and you have to turn alot. The savage one I have I have had for 20 years. Using backdrop clamps I was able to mount the quilts fairly straight & stretch out most of the wrinkles. I only needed to use 3 sections. I would guess with all 4 sections this would not hold a lot of weight. This collapses down to a compact package with its own carry bag. The bag has a little pouch to hold misc. items like my clamps. Very easy to setup and work with. Seems fairly sturdy. If you extend it fully you will need sand bags or it will tip over. Only problem is the base on one of the stands broke after maybe 8-10 shoots. One of the pop rivets snapped off. Comes with a 1 yr warranty but after talking with the manufacturer you need to send the whole unit back and it could take 3-6 weeks to get it replaced or repaired. That's too long.
