I even dilute it with some water in another spray bottle. I do not want the coat to become sticky so the added water helps it just fine. I use it for grooming the entire coat by misting the areas lightly. use more on a knot. it works! Worked for very tiny knots, but any type of mat it had trouble with. My cats coat was maybe a small amount less static-y but in order to get it to that your cat has to be sprayed down to an almost damp level... My dogs are tangle-free and that's not easy with all the hair they have! They are very used to being sprayed, brushed and combed but this product makes it so much easier to get the tangles out before they turn into mats! The most important thing you can do to prevent mats is to brush regularly so that any small tangles get removed and never get the chance to form into mats. It is essential to brush and comb right down to the skin which is where many tangles form. Never brush a dry coat or the hairs will break! Also keep your dog clean. Dirty coats will mat more easily.This has a nice clean smell, a very light melon scent that I can barely smell at all. The ingredients are all natural: Coconut/Palm Conditioner, Benzoin Tree Gum Preservative, Panthenol, Water, Melon Fragrance.
