User manual clearly written by someone who did NOThave a command of the English language. Broken English and often times instructions that don'tmake sense. Achieving image stability is difficult. Light and focus tend to slightly wonderon it's own. Probably has more to do with the cheap controls for these functions. I haven'tbeen able to figure out how to measure on a captured, stored image yet. Can only measure onthe live image. If the software worked better, then the value would be there for this product.Without the software functioning as well as I expected - it's overpriced. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value. They are cheap, and sort of crappy (optics, structure, functions, bugs). But this microscope is surprisingly well put together. The little stand is actually made of steel, it's pretty sturdy. Focus and light controls as manual, and on the device itself, so you don't have to fight autofocus or too much brightness from the light. I worked off-the-box on Ubuntu (10.4, an old version!). There also built in lights are also helpful, but can wash out the image a bit. The built in light also have a variable brightness dial on the side, very convenient.
