The only difference I believe is the paint job, and of course the Japanese writing on the package. I think the imported color scheme in my opinion looks better.My son loves Soundwave. He only knows him as a truck, so not being a cassette player wasn't a problem (yes I know it's been awhile since he had that form) :)A little difficult to transform at first, but overall a solid toy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of my Favorite Soundave Figures! *by R***W on Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2015* The takara version of the Fall for Cybertron Soundwave is in my opinion the definitive version of all of the video game Soundwaves toys. The paint scheme of this Soundwave is beautiful with its darker tone of purple and black which is much more video game accurate than the US release. The light piping on the head is fantastic, articulation is great, and even the Laserbeak storage system gimmick works pretty well.
