Needs a little research if it makes sense for you at all even if that works, as the speeds of each NVMEs would be limited by the narrow bandwidth. PCIe 3 x2 tops out at 985 MB/s. A Samsung 980 would be throttled at about 2/3 of it's top speed, as that is capable of reaching 3500/3000 MB/s read/write speeds. **Q: Will this work with msi mag z490 tomahawk** A: As I understand this card only works properly with a Asus motherboard which supports the feature. It may however recognise the card as 1 pcie lane only.
