I had the TI2500 years ago--one of the first small digital one with soldered in rechargeable batteries. It was an LED--a style in calculators and watches from the period which didn't last very long. Since those early days these small calculators have certainly evolved in function and charging ability. This one is shaped a bit different from many current ones. It is not a rectangle but you can either use it as a desk model or hold it in your hand and use it that way--if you hands are big enough. Functions are on the simple side for the most part--they are handled quickly and efficiently . I have taken a liking to this small unit. I usually use it as a desk model or while sitting in my lounge chair doing simple calculations--like for doing your taxes or figuring out the taxes on purchases. You can input the local tax rate into memory and use it to calculate things you want to buy--a lot easier than putting in the % rate each time you do a calculation--pretty common on most calculators today.I also like the fact that it is "dual power" and the battery is relatively easy to change--a small cover on the back of the calculator is unscrewed and the battery is exchanged--takes an LR 54/other names as well. Hoping the "durability" factor is good--TI units usually are but time will tell.
