As others have mentioned, the manual is easy to find online in English, but one thing I didn't consider was that the day of the week indicator is in Japanese characters, not "MO", "TU" etc like the US model would've had. Say timing a childrens sporting event.** A: With the right angle you can read it with no problem. But the digital display is general not big or bright enough to be easily read. **Q: The illustration seems to show a Chinese character. Can the display show the date in U.S. style?** A: Yes. There is an English option in the menu. **Q: Can you change the strap on this watch?** A: Never done it but absolutely. Strap is the worst thing about this. You'll just need to measure the gap where the strap attaches to the watch to make sure that it will fit and off you go. English instructions on Web. *by M***N on August 13, 2024* Great watch, but there are 3 quirks. (1) The instructions were provided only in Japanese. I found, at Casio's website, instructions for a very similar model in English and used them. (2) The display illumination (a yellow LED, switched on by the upper right button) is really for emergencies only. Using it a very few times will run down the battery (which recharges in room light or sunlight). (3) This solar-powered watch sleeps when it's kept in the dark. After about an hour in the dark at nighttime, the second hand stops moving. (Perhaps not a good watch to use in dark environments.) After a week in the dark, the hands go to 12 o'clock and stop.
