## Description

Dive Computers [Swanepoel, Anton] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Dive Computers

Review: An excellent scuba reference - Whether you're buying your first computer or have an interest in the science beyond the layman, this is your book. Comprehensive chapters on all topics, including history, physiology, medicine and detailed descriptions of all those features on my computer that I never use. By far the most up-to-date book available on the subject, a corner stone addition to my reference library.
Review: Dive Computers: mostly harmless ... - The good news is: this book is mostly harmless! Due to the fact that most of the dive-computer features are explained along with the VR3. And this one was withdrawn form the market due to, to put it mildly, a lot of "operational inconsistencies" ... And the bad news is: the review for "Deep Stops, etc. ..." (same author) yields here as well! And, additionaly we have on: p. 35: it is not "Z" but rather "F"arallon ... :-) p 43; the formula in the gray box: There is, and I hate to write this, nothing to put it mildly: it is bunk! This formula is exclusively for the compression(!, sic) efforts and not for decompression. p. 94: "serial models ... do not have set half times ...". No: they do have! Look at formula (9) in the 1984 paper of Nishi & Lauckner. p. 96: "VPM-B (B = Bubble)". No, it's not. It is B for Boyle. p. 161: "Articles ..." Well, the 1984 DSAT paper is a full-blown book with approx. 100 pages and 8 pages of references ... So, bottom line, except being harmless, it does not reflect topical dive computers and developments.
