I’m just going to tell people the truth as to what transpired. I purchased a replacement battery for my 5th Generation iPod from Tanaka . When I received it, the replacement battery was not the same configuration as the battery that I removed from the iPod. The battery you sent me, with the printed label facing upright and the positive symbol (+) being on the left, and the negative symbol (-) being on the right, the wire was coming out of the top left corner of the battery. On the original battery taken out of the iPod, the lead was coming out of the bottom right of the battery. I sent and image to Tanaka showing both the original battery, and the replacement battery I was sent. I stated that this didn’t look right and it looked like it would short out my iPod. Tanaka replied to me and stated, that they had not received any problems or complaints. I replied once again, that the lead was in the wrong place and the negative and positive sides of the battery appearing to be reversed. I heard nothing back for a long time and thought maybe the label was just pasted on the back side of the battery. I decided to trying flipping the battery so the label was now not visible, but the lead would be at the bottom right like the original. Being very careful to not over-solder the three leads, I soldered the lead wire into place (three contacts). The iPod never booted with the Apple screen. It does nothing. My $350.00 (when new) iPod 5th generation is now a brick, or a decorative paper-weight.I’m willing to have you send me another battery, just in case it was a defective battery (anything is possible), ### ⭐ Battery did not hold a charge, solders looked good before the reattempts *by V***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2019* soldered on and the battery will not charge.When comparing to the OEM, I noted the + and - indicators were opposite on the pack but when you position the wire to solder, it seems it is...so printing mix up? Either way, it didn't work. Everytime I unplug the charger, instantly turns ipod off like it had no battery. I resoldered it to make sure and still no charge. So now I have a disassembled ipod touch with a resoldered board which I am unsure if a 3rd try would ruin it or not...but then again...as it sits, it's a guaranteed no brick. I was probably better off just leaving it working but docked permanently or corded...at least it worked and was in 1 piece. I would like to return it but I would have to disassemble the half and unsolder it yet again, which may put the nail in the coffin. Why would I even go through the trouble and kill it unsoldering and returning a defective battery?
