As another reviewer mentioned, the brass nut protrudes slightly (approximately 0.3mm) from the face of the polymer.It might seem like this handy item, with its many potential uses, might be a commonly-available fitting, but it isn’t: An exhaustive search for something like it yielded only this mount. It appears to be unique in the marketplace.The many reviews complaining about the provided adhesive are correct: I carefully cleaned the surface of my workpiece before applying this mount, and then I clamped it for 48 hours. The moment any significant lateral force was applied, the mount fell off. The original adhesive was easy to remove, and reminded of nothing more than rubber cement. I subsequently used the same methods with a 3M VHB 25mm diameter adhesive round I had left over from another project, and it’s like the mount is welded onto my workpiece.This mount is an invaluable and relatively unique little piece of kit, but plan to replace the adhesive that comes with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent but needs better adhesive *by G***B on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on August 30, 2017* Excellent sturdy piece but could be even better. They adhesive that is supplied is not strong enough. It lasted less than a day. I ordered some scotch extreme mounting tape (3M CHIMD) double faced tape and now it's staying put.
